A Wobbly Wonder from the Void
Meet the Menagerie’s most magnificently malleable member: the Baby Shoggoth. Part puddle, part pal, and entirely impossible to pin down — in the taxonomic sense, and also the literal one. This wide-eyed, many-eyed, wiggly little wonder has emerged from the cosmic deep with precisely one item on its agenda: to be absolutely, unreasonably adorable.
The Baby Shoggoth is a shapeshifter by nature and a snuggler by choice. It bubbles with curiosity, shimmers with barely-contained chaos, and has a particular fondness for soft surfaces, warm light, and its beloved Teddy — a stuffed companion of uncertain origin that it refuses, under any circumstances, to release. Scientists have theorized that the teddy bear may be structural. The Keeper has no opinion on this matter and asks that you not press the issue.
What it lacks in solid form, it more than makes up for in enthusiasm. The Baby Shoggoth explores with the unbridled joy of something that has no concept of consequences and an infinite capacity for wonder. It will investigate your shoes, redistribute your houseplants, and regard you with every single one of its eyes simultaneously — an experience that is, despite all reasonable expectations, quite heartwarming.
Shoggoth Habitats
The Baby Shoggoth is, as one might expect of a protoplasmic entity with no fixed form, It is drawn, reliably, to places where reality bends just enough to be interesting. Clusters of glittering crystals. The space behind bookshelves. Corners of rooms that feel, inexplicably, like they are giggling. Anywhere that is damp, softly lit, or vaguely shimmering qualifies as prime Shoggoth territory, and any such location should be approached with both affection and a spare towel.
The Baby Shoggoth has no fixed address, but it always seems to find its way back to somewhere warm. The Keeper suspects this is because it follows the teddy bear, and the teddy bear, somehow, always knows.
Origins and Sightings
The Shoggoth is inspired by the amorphous creatures of H.P. Lovecraft, first appearing in At the Mountains of Madness (1936). Originally depicted as terrifying, protoplasmic servants of the ancient Elder Things, Shoggoths were mindless, shape-shifting monsters capable of overwhelming entire expeditions.

Acquire a Specimen
The Baby Shoggoth is available in wearable and domestic form — because of course it is. It has expressed, through a series of enthusiastic wobbles, that it approves of appearing on mugs, t-shirts, and magnets. The teddy bear could not be reached for comment.
